• Why is there a weird dating system (1/1/0)?
  • Standard System Year (SSY) is a neutral time-measurement system used to describe events without relying on Earth’s historical calendar. In SSY, Year 0 is permanently anchored to Earth year 2026 and never moves. All other dates are measured relative to that fixed point, not to Earth history or cosmology. Events that occurred before this reference point are shown as negative years (for example, −1,000,000,000 SSY), and events after it are shown as positive years. This does not mean Earth years have passed or will pass, only how far an event is from the reference moment. SSY exists solely to make time distances easy to understand and compare when Earth time and System time are not correlated.
